It takes courage to be able to step in the arena and to be able to strive for a goal. As the Theodore Roosevelt quote alludes to the person that steps into the arena and errs and comes up short again because that is what happens when you put in effort. The ability to be brave enough to start the journey and set your focus on the unknown and uncontrollable, require the ability to grow through adversity and find ways to find harmony in chaos.
One of my favorite sayings is "do the ordinary exceptionally well to create opportunities for the extraordinary." I strongly believe that a sound understanding of your strengths and weaknesses will allow you to focus on the things that make you special. This ability to leverage your strengths every day is the ordinary. Continuously improving will allow you to stay ready for the moments where you can be extraordinaruy.
To be brave enough to accept that failure is an option with the support of your team is my definition of an inspiring environment. The ability to learn, fail, grow and succeed together is what makes environments special. The ability to respect your peers, be responsible for your actions and learn to flourish under pressure are the hallmarks of the positive and inspiring learning environments.
